A good beginning makes a good ending
Kyle Hebert (English)
Sternbild City's first NEXT hero and a veteran since Hero TV first debuted years ago. He was the one who inspired Kotetsu to accept his powers and use them to fight to protect people. He was killed by his son, who became the vigilante Lunatic.
His appearance and 'large' build would suggest that he was also a hero past his prime.
In the past, he genuinely enjoyed being a hero and being a good person who saved others and stopped evil. He passed this trait onto his son, often telling his son that he needed to become a good strong person so he could confront evil and stop them in their tracks. He is the inspiration for Kotetsu becoming a hero. However, when he started losing his powers, his company staged it so that other heroes would capture the criminals and give Legend the credit. This hurt his pride as he felt people were counting on him and he could not meet their expectations and was no longer the hero he used to be and drowned himself in alcohol. In addition, he grew abusive towards his wife and child, becoming the very person he told his son to vanquish.
Sometime after saving Kotetsu from the bankrobbers, he lost his NEXT powers. Ben revealed a bit more about Legend's past. Stating after Legend lost his powers, all his arrests were staged. The heroes of that time would corner the criminals and allow Legend to take all the credit. The higher ups also erased any arrest records that made him look bad, explaining why there was no record of Jake. Because of this Legend was very troubled by this and drowned himself in alcohol. When he returned home, he'd beat his wife.
One day, while he was beating his wife, his son Yuri tried to stop him. Yuri then awakened, revealing to be a NEXT as well, and later on known to be the vigilante Lunatic. Upon awakening Yuri grabbed his father's hand and accidentally burned him to death. Leaving Yuri's mother to be traumatized, and gave birth to Lunatic's twisted view of justice.
Powers and AbilitiesEdit
His powers seems to emit some kind of force. When using his powers, he became invulnerable and able to emit a force capable of blowing people back. Legend's ability most likely has something to do with vibrations or repulsion, as when he pushed the robbers back everything was shaking around him. He was also seen using his power to make bullets bounce off him. In first appearance he entered the bank through an upper window, so its presumed he either can jump pretty high or used some contraption, as he was not glowing when he entered. His power is presumably not Hundred Power, as he can use his powers after they deactivate and make bullets bounce off him.
Legend even though past his prime seems to have been in good condition, as he was able to land on his feet while jumping into the 2nd story building without showing any trouble. He also captured Jake earlier, who had been able to beat every hero he fought (excluding Barnaby Brooks Jr.). Meaning his power was superior to both Jake's power to read minds and use barriers, for defense and offense.
Kotetsu's old boss, Ben revealed that Legend also had declined in his NEXT powers. That the arrests he made were staged after losing his powers, but had to quit.
Mr. Legend's costume is similar to Bucky's , with a cape. Besides that, it seems very simple. What's different about his costume, is that he has no logos on it, suggesting that the logo sponsor craze started years later.
